All courses should have this <strong>set to Manual by default<\/strong>, and this setting <strong>should NOT be changed<\/strong>. class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"course-level-policy\">Setting a Manual Grade Posting Policy for your course<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"general-grade-posting-policy\">You can check your course grade posting policy and ensure it is set to <em>manual<\/em> via the <strong>Gradebook<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-background has-global-padding is-layout-constrained policy only applies to future grades entered<\/strong>. Switching from <em>Automatic <\/em>to <em>Manual <\/em>does not retroactively apply to grades already released to students. To hide existing grades, you must manually select &#8220;Hide grades&#8221; in the Gradebook column header.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"assignment-level-policy\">Setting a Grade Posting Policy for specific assignments<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As mentioned, your <strong>Grade Posting Policy<\/strong> should be set to <strong>Manual<\/strong>, but there may be specific assignments you wish to set up automatic grading for. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Provided that the course-level Grade Posting Policy is set to <strong>Manual<\/strong>, and you haven&#8217;t overidden it for specific assignments, all existing assignments will also follow the manual posting policy. When a manual policy is turned on for an assignment, a label saying <strong>MANUAL<\/strong> will appear in the Gradebook column header. However, as you should keep your general Grade Posting Policy set to manual, this shouldn&#8217;t be a problem.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-da79a4a7 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\" style=\"border-bottom-color:var(--wp--preset--color--base-2);border-bottom-width:2px;padding-top:10px;padding-bottom:10px\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-base-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7229d025041ce46067764d4fad1054a6\" id=\"releasing-grades\" style=\"padding-top:0px;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0\"><strong>Releasing Grades and Feedback<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>With a manual <strong>Grade Posting Policy<\/strong> in place, staff will need to manually post grades to students. Likewise, if the policy is set to manual, the student would <strong>see their grade upon submission<\/strong> if you <strong>don&#8217;t<\/strong> select <em>Hide results from students<\/em> for individual quizzes.
