The Canvas Quiz tool offers several ways to provide feedback to students on MCQs. These feedback options can be tailored to individual answer choices, overall question performance (correct\/incorrect), or the quiz as a whole. Below is a detailed overview of each method, including how to update quiz settings to manage feedback visibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Feedback for Individual Answer Choices<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    For each answer option in a MCQ, you can add specific feedback that will be shown only if a student selects that particular answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To do this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • While editing a MCQ, click the feedback button (represented by a speech bubble icon) next to the answer you want to comment on.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Enter your feedback using the Rich Content Editor, which allows you to include text, images, media, or links.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Save your feedback and update the question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      2. Feedback Based on Correctness<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

      Canvas allows you to provide feedback that appears only if the student selects the correct answer; only if the student selects an incorrect answer; or for all students regardless of their choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      To add this feedback:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      • Click the Edit icon for the question.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Locate the feedback icon (two speech bubbles) at the bottom of the question near the points. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • In the pop-up, you will see three fields:\n

        • Feedback for correct answers<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Feedback for incorrect answers<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • General feedback (displayed to all students)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Enter your feedback in the appropriate boxes and click Done<\/strong> to save.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          3. General Feedback for the Entire Quiz<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

          In addition to per-question feedback, you can provide general feedback that is displayed to all students after quiz submission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          To add custom feedback for the entire quiz:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          • Go to the Settings<\/strong> tab when editing the quiz.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Enable the Show Custom Feedback with Results<\/strong> option.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Enter your feedback in the provided field (it saves automatically).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            4. Updating Quiz Settings to Manage Feedback<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

            Canvas New Quizzes provides several settings that affect how and when feedback is displayed to students:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Accessing Settings<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

            • Open the quiz, click the and select the Build<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Click the Settings<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

              Feedback Visibility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

              • For Individual answer feedback, enable the Show Feedback <\/strong>option in settings:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
