Instead of setting up a separate Turnitin assignment, as we did in Blackboard, there will now be an option within the Canvas Assignment settings to turn on <strong>Turnitin Plagiarism Framework<\/strong>. This means that any Similarity Reports will now be accessed via the native SpeedGrader tool in Canvas, which is where you will mark and provide feedback on Assignments in Canvas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-da79a4a7 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\" style=\"border-bottom-color:var(--wp--preset--color--base-2);border-bottom-width:2px;padding-top:10px;padding-bottom:10px\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-base-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-7edb75f01869bdd5404e8d0a4d135d5b\" id=\"difference-to-Tii-Bb\" style=\"padding-top:0px;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0\"><strong>How it differs from Turnitin in Blackboard<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>There are some differences to how the Turnitin Plagiarism Framework will work in Canvas compared to how TurnItIn was used in Blackboard. Key differences include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>No separate Turnitin assignment link <\/strong>&#8211; you will no longer set up a &#8216;Turnitin submission&#8217;. Instead, you will create a Canvas Assignment and turn on the Turnitin Plagiarism Framework setting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No Turnitin assignment Inbox<\/strong> &#8211; there will no longer be a separate Turnitin inbox &#8211; you will instead view student submissions via the native Canvas Gradebook or SpeedGrader. This is also where you will complete any marking or feedback.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No Post Date <\/strong>&#8211; unlike Turnitin in Blackboard, there will no longer be an automatic &#8216;Post Date&#8217; for the release of mark and feedback. Instead, you should ensure that the Grade Posting Policy on the Canvas assignment is set to Manual. For more information on how this work, read the<a href=\"#marking-feedback-plagiarism-framework\"> marking assignments section<\/a> of this page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No Turnitin Rubrics<\/strong> &#8211; Turnitin Rubrics will no longer be able to be used in Canvas. Instead, you will be able to set up Canvas Rubrics. You can find information here on <a href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Instructor-Guide\/How-do-I-add-a-rubric-in-a-course\/ta-p\/842\">how to create a rubric<\/a> in your course and also <a href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/t5\/Instructor-Guide\/How-do-I-add-a-rubric-to-an-assignment\/ta-p\/1058\">how to attach the rubric<\/a> to your assignment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Group Assignments<\/strong> &#8211; you will now be able to enable group assignments when also using the Plagiarism Framework. If you enable students to view their Similarity Reports, each member of the group will be able to view it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Submit multiple files<\/strong> &#8211; you will now be able to submit multiple files as part of the same submission using the Plagiarism Framework. Navigate to the Canvas space where you want to set this up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Return to the <strong>Gradebook<\/strong>.
