For more information on what Gradescope does check out: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teachingcollege.fse.manchester.ac.uk\/gradescope\/\">What does Gradescope do?<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-da79a4a7 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\" style=\"border-bottom-color:var(--wp--preset--color--base-2);border-bottom-width:2px;padding-top:10px;padding-bottom:10px\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-base-2-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-00466b677d69fd9ea9b698f763aacea6\" id=\"what's-different\" style=\"padding-top:0px;padding-right:0;padding-bottom:0px;padding-left:0\">How is setting up a Gradescope assignment different in Canvas?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>If you used Gradescope in Blackboard, you will be familiar with setting up a single Gradescope course link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The key change in Canvas is that staff need to set up a separate <strong>Canvas assignment<\/strong> for each Gradescope assignment they wish to create. This is done by creating a Canvas assignment and choosing the submission type <strong>External Tool<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Canvas assignment link acts as the entry point to open the Gradescope interface for both staff and students. To do that follow the steps below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open your Canvas Course unit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open the <strong>Assignments<\/strong> menu and then click on your on the relevant assignment. Check your browser settings in the top right of your screen.  If an eye with a cross shows, this indicates third party cookies are blocked in Canvas.  Select the eye icon and then change setting to allow Third-party cookies. Gradescope assignments have two layers of visibility control:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The assignment must be&nbsp;<strong>published in Canvas<\/strong>&nbsp;for students to access it through the LTI link. If it remains unpublished, they will see this message when accessing through Canvas.<a href=\"https:\/\/guides.gradescope.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/23586543164173-Using-Gradescope-LTI-1-3-with-Canvas-as-an-Instructor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a>\u200b<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In Gradescope itself, under&nbsp;<strong>Assignment Settings \u2192 Section Management<\/strong>, specific sections or individual students can be hidden.
