Canvas is now live! A range of training and support is available to help staff make the most of the platform. This section outlines the training opportunities for staff in the Faculty of Science and Engineering and how to access them.

A series of self-directed user guides are available to all staff via this website: Teaching College – Getting Started with Canvas.

The guides, available from the left-hand side menu, include topics such as building content, assignments and quizzes, marking and feedback, and Canvas Studio.

We’re regularly updating the website with new guidance to support your use of Canvas. If you don’t see a guide that fits your needs, please get in touch with the eLearning team.

Canvas Clinics – our informal drop-in sessions held across all discipline buildings during Summer 2025 – have now ended. Due to low attendance, we will no longer be scheduling them.

If you need support, you can book a Canvas Consultation with us.

Canvas Consultations are your opportunity to book a dedicated 30 minute one-to-one session with a member of the FSE eLearning team. These sessions work best if you have a specific query or problem that you would like to explore.

TLSE teams

During Spring 2025, FSE eLearning delivered a series of Canvas sessions for TLSE staff, focused on the key tasks relevant to their roles. These sessions were developed in consultation with key managers across TLSE teams. Training materials and resources from these sessions are available on this page: TLSE Training Resources.

Further training for TLSE teams is available upon request.

Academic Departments

If you have a departmental specific training requirement, FSE eLearning can arrange a session.  Please get in touch with the eLearning team to discuss your requirements and to schedule a session.

Please note we are unable to schedule training sessions during exam periods, as the team will be focused on providing exam support.
